-
All Plungers must raise a minimum of $100. If Plunging as a team, the team must raise at least $100 per person.
-
Incentives are distributed at the following levels and are based on individual fundraising totals:
•$100: Gift Bag & Towel
•$250: Gift Bag, Towel, & Plunge T-shirt
•$500: Gift Bag, Towel, & Plunge Crewneck
-
Each Plunge location is different. Please see your specific location for more details.
-
There is no age requirement to participate in a Polar Plunge. During the registration process, all Plunge participants must sign a waiver, and participants under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian present to approve and sign the waiver. Young children are welcome to participate, but that decision is left to the sole discretion of the child’s parent or guardian.
-
Facilities vary at each Polar Plunge location, but at all plunges changing rooms will be available for men and women. Please note, that neither the event committee nor Special Olympics Idaho are responsible for personal belongings left inside the changing areas, that are lost or stolen during the course of the event. Please secure your valuables and don’t leave them unattended.

Be creative! You can wear your bathing suit, a costume, your work clothes, whatever you’d like! Please be respectful when choosing attire. Anyone dressed in an offensive manner will be asked to leave. If you aren’t sure if your outfit is acceptable, please reach out to us to ask!
We recommend you wear your Plunge costume under the outfit you wear to the event. This way, you don’t have to worry about changing and can stay warm longer!
Bring along warm clothes to wear after you Plunge that are easy to put on. The last thing you want to deal with when you’re cold and wet are clumsy zippers and buttons! We recommend warm socks and a change of shoes as well.
-
Alcohol is not permitted at the Plunge site for safety reasons. If you are intoxicated, you will not be allowed to Plunge.
-
Charitable contributions are non-refundable. We may make exceptions for emergencies however each Plunger that signs up is an expense to our organization therefore refunds are limited.
-
We reserve the right to cancel an event due to inclement weather and other dangers. Safety of participants and spectators is always most important to us, and we work with first responders to be sure conditions are safe for participants. If you cannot attend the event or the event is cancelled there will be no refunds.
If an event were to be cancelled, we would still offer an incentive pick up option to participants, or allow participants to transfer to a different event. We will also make every effort to reschedule any cancelled events for a date and time that is deemed safe.
-
Our day of the event registration system has up to the minute totals for your online fundraising, and anything additional you may turn in on site will be added to your total.
-
Depending on the size of the team, the location and the jumping platform at the plunge, teams may jump in together. If the area and/or platform is smaller, teams will have to split into groups and jump in succession. If you’d like to jump with others not on your team, make sure they stand in line with you, or sign up for the same time slot as you.
