Celebrating 50 Years of Service to Idaho Athletes!

The mission of Special Olympics Idaho is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

In 2021, we kicked off our 50th Anniversary!

Since 1971, Special Olympics Idaho has been providing sports training and athletic competition for Idaho children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Idaho is one of the most recognized charities in the state and Special Olympics International is a trusted organization throughout the world, dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competitions. In a world that all too often is indifferent to those with intellectual disabilities, we’re proud to be celebrating 50 years of inclusion and acceptance here in Idaho!

“You are the stars and the world is watching you. By your presence, you send a message to every village, every city, every nation. A message of hope. A message of victory.”
